In this video you will learn some of the basic postures/asanas (along with their names) regularly used in any Yoga class.
The routine is very slow and gentle. You will learn about alignment, how to use the props, about basic yogic breathing, the importance and reason of abdominal lock (Uddiyana Bandha), the importance of focus (Drishti), slowing down and relaxing – being comfortable in stillness. |

A slower gentler Yoga practice with focus mainly on stretching and strengthening the hips, back and legs – modifications are offered if needed. Some gentle balance is included. In addition, there is a little gentle core work towards the end. Suitable for mixed ability students.

Working a little more with co-ordination and a little more demanding than Strength and Stretch #1, but still at a slow pace. Lots of leg strength using a few variations on Warrior 1 posture. Also working on arm strength and stretch, balance and core. Modifications are offered if needed. Suitable for mixed ability students.

All of the postures in this routine are practiced on the floor (quite a few postures are on the knees) and focus on stretching the body and deep breath work. The routine is a very slow and gentle full body stretch. Deep breath work is practiced throughout. This routine is ideal if you need a very gentle, calming pace, or just want to slow down. Modifications are offered if needed. Suitable for mixed ability students.

This is a gentle slower paced practice, with twists to help improve digestion and mobility of the spine. Please note that twisting is not suitable for participants who are pregnant, who have chronic digestive issues or SI joint issues. You will also work on hip mobility, and arm and core strength. Alternatives (harder if required) and modifications are given if needed. Suitable for mixed ability students.
